Racer Registration

Everything you need to know before race day — September 10, 2026

Race Rules & Safety

A mandatory safety briefing will be held before the race begins. All registered riders must attend.
  • Helmets are required. No helmet, no ride — no exceptions.
  • Sign the rules & waiver. Each racer must sign the official rules and regulations document before the race.
  • Course positioning: Faster riders stay to the inside of the turns. Slower riders keep to the outside.
  • Signal before passing. Announce your intention clearly before overtaking another rider.
  • Be respectful. Be kind to your fellow racers. This is a community event — good sportsmanship is expected of all riders.
  • Bring your own penny farthing. Bicycles will not be provided. You must supply your own high-wheel bicycle.
  • Race to Zero format: The race runs for one hour. Complete another lap if time remains. The race ends when the clock expires mid-lap.

A note on year one: This inaugural race is held on a Thursday. Our goal is to grow the Ohio High Wheel Race into an annual event — with future races moving to the weekend — but that future is built on the foundation we lay right now. Register today and help make this a tradition.
